This Megalodon tooth was discovered in Indonesia. These ancient teeth, which belonged to the largest shark ever to have existed, are found embedded in sedimentary rock layers deep beneath the earth's surface. Due to their location, these fossils cannot be found by scuba diving and instead, require the use of hand tools such as hammers and chisels to extract them.
The process of finding these teeth is labor-intensive and requires a great deal of skill and expertise. Rock layers must be carefully excavated in order to reveal the hidden teeth.
