Natural Orthoceras rod from Morocco. This specimen is mined from the Atlas Mountains and is estimated to be 400 million years old.
Orthoceras were ancient sea squids who moved through the water by shooting bursts of air behind them. After 400 million years, only their shell is left, often accompanied by the shells of other Orthoceras.
This fossil is a perfect gift for someone who loves fossils and can be displayed in a classroom, desk, home, or office. This piece has been reconstructed.
